2019 BMW S 1000 RR priced starting at Rs.18.50 lakh
The BMW S 1000 RR is a favorite among super-sport speed machines of the liter class
BMW Motorrad has launched the BMW S 1000 RR in India. With the Standard variant, there are 2 more variants, the Pro and the Pro M Sport. The outgoing S1000 RR was flawless in opinions of seasoned riders. Yet, BMW has given it a refresh for improvisation.
The new bike loses the asymmetrical headlamps in favor of twin LED headlamps with turning indicators. It will be available in two paint schemes, Racing Red and the White with M colors that we all know.
On the equipment front, the new S 1000 RR gets a 6.5 inch TFT display. Via this screen, you can switch different riding modes that the bike gets. The Standard variant has 4 modes, Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race. The Pro and the Pro M-Sport variants get additional riding modes: Race Pro 1, Race Pro 2, Race Pro 3.
The M Package adds goodies like carbon fiber wheels, a lightweight battery, and better seat underpinnings. It also features Cornering ABS and Dynamic Traction Control. The chassis is also tweaked and has lighter components. The new bike weighs in at 197 Kg (11 kg lighter than before). Add the M Package and the weight scales down to 193.5 kg.
The engine is a 999cc inline four, and revs to 13500 rpm. And, at that mark, it produces 207bhp. The torque figure is the same as before, 113Nm at 11000 rpm. The engine uses VVT 9variable Valve-timing), courtesy, BMW’s ShiftCam technology.
The S1000 will reach the showrooms as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). The competition comes from the likes of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Ducati Panigale V4 and V4 S. know more at the official BMW Motorrad India’s website.
