The 2020 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross showcased in Thailand gets radical new styling, new tech, and upmarket interior

Isuzu Thailand has showcased the 3rd generation of its D-Max light pickup truck. After 8 years of the 2nd-gen of the D-Max, which is currently on sale in India, an upmarket approach to the capable pick-up was much needed.

The 2020 D-Max is a new product grounds up. Based on the Chevrolet Colorado platform, the looks have received a major overhaul. Sleek headlamps with U-shaped DRLs highlight the front end. An aggressive bumper houses the turn indicators.

The side profile has squared and beefier proportions. There is a new black cladding for the wheel arches. The alloy wheels also get a new design and black treatment.

The interiors have been completely spruced up as well. There’s a new 9-inch tablet-style infotainment system that shows Apple Car Play and Android Auto features. The gear lever shown has a better design. There are a host of buttons on either side. Details reveal perforated leather upholstery for seats.

The 2020 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will get the 3-Litre engine in certain international markets. It makes 188Hp and 450Nm. The current 1.9-litre engine recently launched in India will also be available for certain models. However, when launched in India, it will most likely get only the 1.9-litre engine, with some power boost. It will be available with both the 6-Speed auto and a manual transmission.

The 2020 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will most likely debut in India in late 2020 or early 2021. The Indian model was recently given a facelift and a new engine and transmission. Prices start at 16.55 lakh for the base Standard variant which gets the 2.5 litre diesel engine and 5-Speed Manual transmission. The Z-Prestige top-end variant gets the 1.9 litre engine paired to a 6-Speed torque converter automatic transmission. It is priced at 19.55 lakh, ex-showroom.
