The Innova HyCross fills all gaps that the Crysta had in terms of luxury, and then adds some more
Toyota India has unveiled the Toyota Innova HyCross in India. And it is a huge leap ahead for the Innova nameplate as well as for Toyota India. I say that as the Innova HyCross is the reflection of the new direction, a new image that Toyota India aspired to project to the Indian buyer. Based on the factors that you will read ahead, it is safe to say that Toyota is shedding the image of an automaker that sacrifices features and modern tech in the name of producing reliable, easy-to-maintain cars. Instead, one look at what the Hycross offers and one would know that Toyota is taking leaps to land far ahead of the competition and create a league of its own.
That being said, here are some features of the Innova that make it a quintessential luxury car
Exterior Design
Yes, the exterior design is a luxury feature. The Innova has always adorned the MPV style and if you were to go through some leading online forums, you see dozens of instances where prospective buyers considering the Innova hesitate because of the bland and a rather van-like styling of the Innova. Toyota has added a tinge of SUV styling elements like wheel arch protectors, an upright bonnet, and a flatter grille. The headlights are sleeker and longer and get LED lights. The bumper gets cutouts and features LED DRLs that double up as turn indicators.
The Innova gets beautiful 18-inch alloy wheels with a super chrome finish and look fabulous. They are wrapped in 225/50 R18 tires and the wheel and tire combo fill up the wheel wells really well. The third-row windows feature a downward-tapering design to make the side profile look sleeker towards the rear. The rear features dagger-shaped taillights with LED design elements that look way more upmarket than the clear-glass style tail lights of the Crysta.
Quilted leather Seats
The Innova Hycross gets quilted leather seat upholstery for all seats across the interiors. The front seats are ventilated as well. They get full electrical adjustability and memory function. However, the highlight here is the middle row. The captain seats of the middle row get the Ottoman function which, at the press of a button, presents a calf rest for the occupant. The electrically adjustable backrest reclines backward to provide a full seated-in position to the occupant. Such comfort features are the first in the segment.
Multi-zone Climate Control
To provide the fully luxurious middle row experience, the Innova HyCross gets multizone climate control which allows the occupants of the middle row to adjust the temperature independently of the middle row. The controls for the blower speed and temperature are housed behind the front-row armrest.
ADAS Features
The Innova HyCross gets a full suite of ADAS safety features. Those include

EVs are known to be super silent in their operation. The Innova HyCross gets a self-charging strong hybrid system paired with the TNGA 2.0 litre NA petrol engine making 186 PS of combined power. However, it can be driven purely on battery power which means a super silent drive.
