New-gen BMW 5 Series spotted in India for the first time

In May of the previous year, BMW unveiled the highly anticipated eighth-generation 5 Series. Now, with its official launch expected later in the year, the car has been seen on Indian roads for the first time.

The spy photos reveal the 2024 5 Series donning a vibrant blue hue. The sedan’s design features are unmistakable, including the iconic kidney grille, sleek LED headlights, black trim throughout, silver alloy wheels, doors with flush handles, LED taillights that wrap around, and silver accents on the rear bumper.

The interior of the upcoming BMW 5 Series boasts a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a standalone 14.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital display for the instrument cluster, climate control for four zones, and rear seats that recline for added comfort.

Expected to be available with both 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines under the 530i and 520d models, the latest 5 Series will go head-to-head with rivals such as the Audi A6 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class upon its release. Furthermore, BMW is likely to launch an electric version, the i5, in India soon after the new 5 Series makes its debut.
