MG Motor India recently announced a strategic joint venture with JSW, signaling a new phase of growth and innovation for the company. Following this collaboration, MG Motor India revealed an ambitious plan to introduce a new vehicle every six months, starting from the festive season this year.
In line with this aggressive rollout strategy, MG Motor India has registered a new patent in the country, potentially hinting at an upcoming model. The patent appears to be for the Wuling Bingo, suggesting that MG might launch a version of this car under its own brand in the Indian market.
The Wuling Bingo, which shares its platform with the MG Comet EV, is an electric vehicle available with two battery options: 31.9kWh and 37.9kWh. These battery packs power an electric motor, offering impressive ranges of up to 333km and 410km on a single full charge, respectively.
Externally, the MG Bingo EV will feature distinctive X-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), projector headlamps, a front fender-mounted charging port, and electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). Additionally, it will come with steel wheels fitted with wheel covers, blacked-out pillars, and LED taillights, ensuring a modern and stylish appearance.
Inside, the upcoming MG hatchback based on the Wuling Bingo EV will boast a two-spoke steering wheel and dual large screens on the dashboard, creating a futuristic cockpit feel. The interior will sport a three-tone color scheme with chrome accents, adding a touch of elegance. Other notable features include cruise control, an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function, and a six-way electrically adjustable driver seat, ensuring comfort and convenience for the driver.
With this new joint venture and its robust product launch strategy, MG Motor India is poised to significantly expand its footprint in the Indian automotive market, offering innovative and high-performance electric vehicles to meet the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions.
