Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Alto K10 get ESP as standard
Maruti Suzuki has announced that the S-Presso and Alto K10 will now come equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as a standard feature across all variants. This enhancement in safety comes without any increase in the vehicle’s price.
Both the S-Presso and Alto K10 are entry-level small cars built on Maruti’s HEARTECT platform, designed to offer affordability without compromising on essential safety. These vehicles already include key safety features such as dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a collapsible steering column, and an engine immobilizer. The newly added ESP further enhances the safety profile by improving vehicle stability, particularly in slippery or challenging driving conditions. ESP works in tandem with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control System (TCS) to help prevent skidding and maintain control.
While previous models of the S-Presso and Alto K10 received low scores in the Global NCAP crash safety tests, the introduction of ESP and other safety upgrades is a positive step forward. We are optimistic that with these improvements, future models will achieve higher safety ratings, providing buyers with even safer options.
