Lamborghini Temerario breaks cover as Huracan successor

Lamborghini has officially introduced the all-new Temerario sports car at the 2024 Monterey Car Week, marking a significant shift in the brand’s lineup. Serving as the spiritual successor to the Huracan, the Temerario departs from the traditional V10 engine in favor of a cutting-edge hybrid V8 powertrain.

Design

Freshly crafted at Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Temerario is named after a legendary fighting bull, staying true to Lamborghini’s tradition. The new model boasts a contemporary design while retaining the brand’s signature hexagonal elements, evident in the DRLs and LED taillights.

At the front, the Temerario features a sleek, clean fascia. The design includes LED DRLs, slanted bumper inserts, projector fog lights, and horizontal fins framing the number plate recess. The iconic raging bull emblem takes center stage on the front bumper, flanked by a pair of slim, dual-pod LED headlamps.

The side profile of the Temerario maintains Lamborghini’s distinctive wedge-shaped silhouette. Key elements include a triangular insert above the hexagon-shaped fuel cap, a gloss black stripe running across the rear fender, a Temerario badge on the side sill, and newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels with contrasting brake calipers.

At the rear, the car showcases a centrally mounted exhaust system with twin pipes, hexagon-shaped LED taillights, an integrated ducktail spoiler, and a large carbon-fiber diffuser. The minimalist rear bumper highlights the aggressive rear tire profile.

Interior

Inside, the Temerario welcomes drivers with a steering wheel inspired by Lamborghini’s racing heritage, featuring a red-crowned dial for selecting drive modes. The wheel also includes various other controls, including one for the launch control function.

The passenger seat is equipped with its own 9.1-inch display that mirrors the driver’s instrument cluster. The car is also fitted with the latest HMI system, which powers the 8.4-inch vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system. As expected from Lamborghini, there is a wide array of optional features, including customizable carbon-fiber inserts and exclusive configurations through the brand’s Ad Personam division.

Engine

Powering the 2024 Lamborghini Temerario is a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a 3.8kWh battery pack and three electric motors. Together, they produce an impressive 907bhp. The internal combustion engine alone delivers 789bhp, revving up to an exhilarating 10,000rpm, while peak torque of 730Nm is available between 4,000 and 7,000rpm. The electric drivetrain contributes 295bhp and powers the front wheels, enabling a 4WD setup. Power is managed by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, ensuring seamless shifts and optimal performance.

The 2024 Lamborghini Temerario represents a bold new direction for the brand, combining innovative hybrid technology with the unmistakable flair and performance that Lamborghini is renowned for.
