BYD e6 facelift teased for the Indian market
Chinese automaker BYD has recently updated its e6 MPV, and the model has now been officially teased for the Indian market. This refreshed version comes with a slew of design enhancements and new features, along with a slight upgrade to the powertrain.
Internationally known as the M6, the 2024 BYD e6 facelift boasts a range of cosmetic improvements. The exterior design now includes new LED headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs), revamped front and rear bumpers, a newly styled grille with a satin finish, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. Additionally, the vehicle features a wider set of taillights equipped with updated LED signatures, further enhancing its modern appeal.
Inside the 2024 BYD e6, you’ll find a significantly larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, replacing the previous 10.2-inch unit. Other interior upgrades include a redesigned steering wheel, a new gear selector dial, and dual wireless mobile charging pads. The international version of the e6 also includes premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, a powered tailgate, and automatic climate control. However, it remains uncertain whether these features will be included in the Indian variant.
Under the hood, the facelifted BYD e6, also known as the M6, is equipped with either a 55.4kWh or a 71.8kWh battery pack, paired with a single electric motor. The Indian market is expected to receive the latter, which represents a slight upgrade from the 71.7kWh unit found in the current model. Notably, the power output has seen a significant boost from 94bhp and 180Nm to an impressive 204bhp and 310Nm. Moreover, the range has also improved, extending from 500km to 530km on a single full charge.
Overall, the 2024 BYD e6 offers a compelling package of enhanced features, increased power, and extended range, making it a strong contender in the electric vehicle segment in India.
