Despite slowing sales for the current version of the MG Gloster SUV, the automaker is actively preparing for the launch of its facelifted model, with rigorous testing underway. Recent spy shots provide a glimpse into the interior and exterior changes of the updated three-row SUV.
New Design
Based on the Maxus D90, the facelifted MG Gloster will feature a refreshed design. The rear will see updates with a new set of taillights and a reworked exhaust setup. At the front, significant changes include a redesigned grille, updated lighting, and a refreshed bumper, giving the SUV a more modern and aggressive look.
Interior and Feature Changes
Inside the cabin, the 2025 MG Gloster will undergo notable revisions. The center console will be revamped with a larger freestanding touchscreen, squared-off AC vents, and dual wireless mobile charging pads. The electronic parking brake switch has been repositioned for better ergonomics, while two rotary dials and what appear to be three differential lock buttons have been added, enhancing the SUV’s off-road capabilities. Additionally, the interior will sport black upholstery with diamond stitching for a more premium feel.
Several features from the current model will carry over, including the panoramic sunroof, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), auto-dimming IRVM, powered tailgate, and a 360-degree camera. These features will continue to offer convenience and safety in the facelifted version.
Powertrain
Under the hood, the MG Gloster is expected to retain its 2.0-litre diesel engine, available in both turbo and twin-turbo configurations. The eight-speed automatic transmission is also likely to remain unchanged, ensuring the same power and smooth driving experience.
With these updates, the facelifted MG Gloster aims to attract new buyers and reinvigorate its position in the competitive SUV market. The refreshed design, upgraded interior features, and retained powertrain options make it a promising contender upon its release.
