CS- Santosh Spotted Riding Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally
A few days prior, we got to know that CS Santosh had reentered the realm of international rallying, representing Royal Enfield at the Cuenca rally in Spain. Santosh was at the helm of a rally motorcycle derived from the Himalayan 450, and we are now pleased to present the inaugural images of this remarkable machine.
The Himalayan rally motorcycle depicted here is currently in its nascent stages of development, marking its inaugural foray into competitive events. The images reveal that the bike is equipped with a robust long-travel suspension system, along with tires specifically designed for rallying.
The engine is expected to have undergone several modifications, while the suspension, tires, and brakes differ significantly from those of the standard road model. It appears to be purpose-built, though it remains in the early phases of development.
The Himalayan rally motorcycle showcased here is still in its preliminary stages of development, and this marks its debut in competitive settings. The images distinctly reveal that the bike features a sophisticated long-travel suspension system, along with tires specifically designed for rallying.
The engine, from an external perspective, seems to retain its stock configuration, complete with the original radiator guard; the sole noticeable modification is the inclusion of a full-system Akrapovic exhaust. However, it is highly probable that substantial internal enhancements have been made, enabling this rally bike to generate over 50 horsepower.
Aesthetically, the Himalayan rally bike resembles a streamlined variant of the standard model, outfitted with Royal Enfield’s rally kit. The protective cage surrounding the fuel tank has been eliminated, and a rally tower has been added at the front to accommodate essential items such as the road book and other rally necessities.
The appearance of this motorcycle further suggests that this project is still in its early stages, and we anticipate a more refined version will be unveiled at its next outing in the forthcoming months.
