2018 Renault Duster CVT petrol
The petrol variant of Renault Duster gets a CVT transmission and it has arrived in India this year while the diesel variant is packed with AMT.
The AMT is only available in RxZ trim while you get a CVT in the RxS trim which a one step below the top model RxZ. But one miss many features like auto AC, reverse camera and more by opting for a CVT model. But the essential features like ABS, EBD, hill start assist are available in CVT.
Considering exterior design, one cannot differentiate much between CVT and other Duster variants. Also, the interiors are quite similar too except a plastic design and an unrefined finish of the dashboard in CVT.
Powertrains
The engine of the Duster petrol is changed a little as the newer version gets a 106 hp, 1.5 L, H4K petrol engine compared to 104 hp, 1.6 L, previous one.
The upgraded Xtronic CVT has a 30 percent faster shift timing as well as it is smaller and lighter than its previous version as claimed by the company.
What about suspension and off-road driving?
Well, there is not much to be said as Indians already know the performance report of previous Duster’s off-road driving capability and suspension quality. Yet, to be clear, this one’s suspensions also soaks most of the load of the bumps of the uneven road.
The car is worth the price because of its counterpart Creta cost 3.5 lakh more and offer the same package and the price of Duster CVT is 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
