The Force Gurkha first launched in 2017, the off-road SUV gets a new innovative update in terms of performance and engine specs. In order to compete in the Indian market with the updated BS-6 norms, we can expect the launch to be made soon.
The off-road SUV comes with a reliable Mercedes sourced engine. It comes with Xplorer and Xpedition variants, powered by a 2.6-liter mill producing 85ps at 230Nm torque. The force Xtreme comes with a 2.2-liter engine that makes 140ps at 321Nm torque. They have made it into a 4-wheel drive with the differential on both the axles. Equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission and a low range transfer case, it will ensure a smooth driving experience. The BS-6 variant is likely to offer a solid mileage of 17kmpl for the diesel variant.
Since it is designed for hardcore offloading it does miss out some of the amenities like a music system. But they have not compromised on the safe side and have included ABS, dual airbags and rear parking sensors in most of the variants to ensure customer safety while off-roading. To enhance the maximum comfort while off-roading they have added coiled spring suspension to the 4 wheels. It comes with new grille, bumpers, and headlamps when it comes to the innovation in design. Apart from the music system, they have added an infotainment system, multi-information display to ensure smooth navigation and experience. It comes with both the soft and hardtop versions.
With the updated design of exhaust pipes sticking out, the all-terrain vehicle is likely to offer the best riding experience even in water situations although it is not recommended to drive vehicles through water.
The updated Gurkha is still likely to compete with the Mahindra Thar in the absence of other relevant competitors in the price range.
