All-new BMW X5 M Competition Launched in India at Rs. 1.94 Cr

BMW has launched an all-new BMW X5 M Competition in India at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 1,94,90,000. The SUV would be imported in India via a completely built unit (CBU). The BMW X5 M Competition is essentially the high-performance version of the X5. BMW has announced that bookings of all-new BMW X5 M Competition can be done online on or before 31 December 2020

This powerful Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) is powered by a 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that is tuned to produce 460 kW/600 hp of power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 750 Nm between 1,800 – 5,600 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission unit with a three-stage Drivelogic shifting system. Powers to all the wheels are transferred via M xDrive all-wheel-drive system with Active M Differential. The SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).

The SUV is characterized by BMW’s blacked-out signature twin kidney grille along with large front bumper air intake openings. The SUV comes with a roof and lower tailgate spoiler that enhances the aerodynamics of the SUV. The SUV runs on a large 21-inch ‘M’ light-alloy wheels at front and 22-inch at the rear. The illumination is taken care of by BMW Laserlight with selective beam technology with a throw of about 500 meters.

Towards the inside, the SUV receives M treatment on the inside with multi-functional steering with paddle shifters. It receives a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, it also comes with features such as BMW Virtual Assistant, wireless charging, Panorama Glass Roof Sky Lounge, Acoustic glazing, and Ambient Air Package.

The all-new BMW X5 M Competition underpins M-specific chassis along with M-specific adaptive suspension, electronically controlled dampers, active roll stabilization system, and M Servotronic steering. BMW has also included ‘M’ compound brakes with two settings for brake pedal feel – COMFORT and SPORT. It also comes with four driving modes, which include Comfort, Sport, Road, and Track.

BMW has included a host of safety features as a part of its BMW Safety technologies, these include a front, side, and head airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including ‘M’ Dynamic Mode, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Brake Control, Dry Braking function, Cruise Control with braking function along with Collision and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function.

BMW will be offering Adaptive LED headlights, High Beam Assistant and Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant, BMW Head-Up Display as standard on this car. BMW is also offering a Driving Assistant Professional package that includes a Steering and lane control assistant, the Lane Keeping Assistant with active side collision protection, the Lane Change Assistant, the Evasion Assistant, the Emergency Stop Assistant, and the Crossroads warning, Wrong-way warning, and Front Cross Traffic Alert systems.
