2022 Audi Q3 returns to India; Launched at ₹44.89 lakh
Audi India has launched the Audi Q3 Compact SUV in India. Available in two variants, Premium Plus and Technology, it is priced at ₹44.89 lakh and ₹50.39lakh respectively for the two variants. The Q3 is making a return to the Indian market after two years of absence.
Exterior
The new Q3 is marginally bigger than the previous model sold in India. It gets a bigger hexagonal front grille, which looks similar to that on the larger Q7. The headlights are sleeker and get integrated DRLs. The bumper gets air dams on each side and looks sporty. The side profile looks elegant with straight lines and a staunch shoulder. To emphasize its SUV-ness, a black cladding accentuates the wheel arches and running board of the Q3. Large 18-inch alloy wheels fill up the wheel wells. Also, the ORVMs are finished in gloss black for a sporty touch. The rear features wrap-around LED tail lamps on a steeply raked tail gate. The rear bumper integrates sleek fog lamps and gets faux dual exhaust on each side.
Interior
The interior of the Q3 boasts better space than its predecessor, Audi says. One can choose from two interior color trims: Okapi Brown or Pearl Beige. The extensive features list includes a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1 inch infotainment system integrating MMI Navigation, 30 Color Ambient lighting, frameless IRVM, Panoramic Sunroof, 6 airbags, and more. The dashboard gets brushed aluminum inserts for added premium touch and contrast. The standard boot space stands at 530 liters. However, with the rear seats folded flat, this space can go up to a massive 1525 litres.
Platform and Powertrain
The Audi Q3 is based on VW’s MQB platform which also underpins the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan. Unlike the last time, the Q3 was on sale in India, the present one will not have a diesel engine on offer. The sole option is a 2-litre turbo petrol, making 190bhp and 320 NM torque. A 7-Speed DCT gearbox will send power to the wheels. The Q3 also features Audi’s Quattro All-Wheel Drive system. Audi claims a 0-100kph acceleration time of 7.3 seconds.
Rivals
The 2022 Audi Q3 rivals the likes of the Mercedes Benz GLA, BMW X1, and the Volvo XC40. Bookings are already open at an amount of ₹2 lakh. Audi India is offering an extended 5-year warranty on the Q3. The first 500 customers will get an additional 3-year/50,000km service pack.
