BMW CE 02 electric scooter to be launched in India this month

BMW Motorrad is set to launch its premium electric scooter, the CE 02, in India this month. The company has already teased a few images on its social media platforms, confirming the upcoming release.

The BMW CE 02 is an urban electric vehicle (EV) manufactured by TVS at its Hosur facility and exported globally. This EV platform has been co-developed in partnership with the German automaker. Under this collaboration, TVS will produce the CE 02 and incorporate some of its technology into its own products. The concept behind the CE series of EVs is to establish a premium brand focused on clean energy, positioning it as an urban mobility solution that helps BMW attract a new segment of buyers worldwide.

The CE 02 is equipped with a 2kWh battery, offering the option of either a single or dual battery configuration. This configuration provides the scooter with either a 90km range and a top speed of 95km/h, or a 45km range and a top speed of 45km/h, depending on the setup. Similar to the CE 04, this two-wheeler boasts modern features and a stylish design, making it highly desirable.

BMW is expected to price the CE 02 at around Rs 5 lakh, positioning it as one of the most expensive scooters in India. The company also offers the CE 04 in the Indian market at Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), which is sold as a completely built-up (CBU) unit.
