C S Santosh-led Bigrock Motorsport sparkle at inaugural Race of CEAT ISRL in Pune

Pune: Dakar Rally veteran C S Santosh inspired his team, BigRock Motorsport as it opened a huge lead by winning most of the races in the inaugural Race of the CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Mhalunge-Balewadi on Sunday.

BigRock Motorsport surprised the Pune crowd by taking the podium in all categories at the CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), a pioneering franchise-based Supercross competition.

Two riders who shouldered the most responsibility in earning points for BigRock Motorsport were Australian Reid Taylor riding a Kawasaki in the 250-cc international race and Thanarat Penjan from Thailand on a Kawasaki in the 250 cc India Asia Mix.

Another rider to impress was Frenchman Jordi Tixier of BB Racing riding a Honda to win the 450cc international race.

In the Season opening race there was an impressive line-up of international champions and emerging Indian stars across four categories—450cc international riders; 250cc international riders;250cc India-Asia mix, and the fiercely competitive 85cc junior class. With top riders from around the world converging in India, the series is expected to serve as the ultimate proving ground for global Supercross supremacy. The league is committed to providing a safe and competitive environment for riders of all ages and skill levels.

Expressing his enthusiasm at the completion of the first race of the Season 1 Veer Patel, Co-founder, and Director of the CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League said “We are overwhelmed by the response we received from the Pune crowd and the enthusiasm was unbeatable.”

The action will now shift to Ahmedabad (February 11) at the EKA Arena, TransStadia. The league’s final Race will take place in the national capital, New Delhi, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on February 25.
