Following the launch of the Basalt and C3 Aircross, Citroen has now updated the C3 hatchback with a new automatic transmission option. The C3’s 1.2-litre turbo engine, producing 109bhp, is paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. The automatic option is exclusive to the top-spec Shine variant, and the price difference between the manual and automatic is expected to be around ₹1.2 lakh.
In addition to the new gearbox, Citroen has introduced several upgrades to the C3 hatchback, including climate control, power mirrors with auto-folding, and 14-inch alloy wheels. All variants now come equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and hill-hold assist (for the automatic version).
These enhancements position the C3 hatchback as a stronger competitor against models like the Maruti Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Renault Triber, and compact sedans such as the Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura.
