Hero Moto Corp, FIAT Shuts plants due to Corona Virus Issues

Hero Moto Corp, the country’s biggest two-wheeler maker on Sunday said that it halt all its operations till 31st March 2020. This statement from Hero Moto Corp came after a sudden increase in the Corona Virus Cases in India. The Corona Virus cases in India have increased to 348. Therefore, the decision is made to control the spread of these cases.

Hero Moto Corp issued a statement and said ” With the safety and wellbeing of its employees as a top priority in view of the escalating COVID-19 situation, the company has decided to halt operations at all its global manufacturing facilities including in India, Columbia and Bangladesh – and the Global Parts Centre (GPC) at Neemrana with immediate effect until March 31, 2020″. Hero Moto Corp also stated that ” All other functions and locations” of all the companies will continue to work from home.

On the other side, FIAT has also halted its plant and shut down all its production in Maharashtra till 31st March.
FIAT stated, ” The temporary suspension is in response to the increasing prevalence of positive COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra and particularly in Pune”.

The company also said that they are monitoring the COVID-19 situation very properly. They have implemented various measures to ensure the safety of the employees in order to control the spread of the Corona Virus.
The company also stated that the Ranjangaon Plant will undergo proper cleaning. They will also do proper Sanitation in the plant. Thermal Screening of all the Employees will be done. However, a few employees will continue their work that includes emergency services.
FIAT also stated that the employees will continue receiving their salaries on time despite this shutdown.
