Hero Motocorp Launches Welfare Package For Covid-19 Affected Families In Rajasthan

After launching a slew of relief efforts in Uttarakhand for Covid-19 affected families, Hero MotoCorp launched a unique a welfare package for 50 Covid-19 affected families in Rajasthan, in association with ‘Nath Sanskirti Seva Santhan’ (NSSS).

The initiative – a part of Hero MotoCorp’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform ‘Hero We Care’ – aims to support women of the affected families by creating supportive conditions to maintain their livelihoods, providing them essential services such as food security and nutrition along with education for their children.

The project was today launched by Shri Satish Poonia, MLA – Amer in the presence of Dr. Rakesh Kumar Meena – SDM, Jaipur, Mr. Vishwamitra Meena – SDM, Jamwaramgarh, and Mr. Bharatendu Kabi, Head – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Corporate Communication, Hero MotoCorp.

Shri Satish Poonia, MLA – Amer, said, “During crises such as these, it’s important for us all to come together.  Hero MotoCorp has done such a commendable job in harnessing its resources to assist those who need help the most. These kinds of humanitarian efforts and initiatives will contribute towards the betterment of the communities in the state. And, the way corporates like Hero MotoCorp are extending their support in the region of Rajasthan, our mission of bringing the society back on its feet will get strengthened and prepare us for the unforeseen future.”

Mr. Bharatendu Kabi, Head – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Corporate Communication, Hero MotoCorp said, “As a responsible corporate citizen, Hero MotoCorp is stepping up to help address immediate humanitarian requirements and long-term economic challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic. We are commencing a Skill Development Program aimed at empowering 50 such women to make them employable and self-reliant in the long-term. This initiative will help them get the required training and develop their entrepreneurial skills to attain a better livelihood, thus contributing towards the sustainable development of communities. We will also provide a monthly allowance towards the educational and nutritional requirements of the children who lost their parents or guardians to Covid-19.”

Under this partnership, the company and NSSS will support children who have lost one or both of their parents or guardians and women who have lost their spouses due to Covid-19, in Amer and Jamwaramgarh districts in Rajasthan.

HERO MOTOCORP’S COVID-19 RELIEF EFFORTS IN RAJASTHAN –

Hero MotoCorp has extended continuous support to COVID-19 hospitals in various states, including Rajasthan –

  • The company has provided its motorcycles and scooters for safe, personal commuting by health workers and medical staff
  • Has donated 5 First Responded Vehicles (FRVs) to the medical and health departments
  • Distributed 5.18 lakh meals to the communities in Alwar and Jaipur
  • Handed over 10,000 dry ration kits to the families in 5 districts
  • Distributed 7.5 lakh face masks, 10,000 litres of sanitizer and 3,000 PPE kits to the frontline healthcare workers and hospitals in 10 districts
