Hero Splendor plus and Bajaj Platina are considered as budget bikes. They fall under the 100 cc segment of motorbikes. Both the bikes were in the market for many years. With the latest BS-VI update, these bikes have had a minor modification. Let us compare both these bikes.
Performance
The Bajaj Platina has an engine of 102 cc. It produces 7.9 PS at 7500 rpm and 30 whereas the 97.2 cc engine of Hero Splendor is slightly powerful and has a maximum power of 8.02 PS at 8000 rpm.
Platina has a mileage of 80 to 102 kmpl and Hero Splendor Plus has a mileage of 68 to 81 kmpl.
Features
Both bikes have basic features. Bajaj Platina has a good ground clearance of 200mm while Hero Splendor Plus has less ground clearance of 165mm. Splendor Plus has body graphics. Since these bikes are low priced, great features cannot be expected. They have basic features like analogue speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, etc.

There are many attractive colours to choose from. Hero offers Splendor Plus in 6 colours- Black with Silver, Black with Purple, Black with Sports Red, Heavy Grey with Green Bettle, Red Bumble Bee, and Yellow Firefly Gold.
Bajaj Platina comes in 6 colours- Black Blue, Red, Black, Ebony Black Silver Decals, Candy Red, Blue (Light-Blue Decals).

The prices of both bikes are convenient and there are multiple variants available.
Bajaj Platina is a cheaper bike compared to Splendor. It has 3 variants; KS Alloy priced at Rs 50,590, ES Alloy priced at Rs 58,600 and ES Disc at Rs 60,820 (Ex-showroom).
Hero offers Splendor in 3 variations – kick with alloy wheels priced at Rs 60,960, self with alloy wheels priced at Rs 63,300 and self with alloy wheels and i3S priced at Rs 64,470 (Ex-showroom).
Final verdict
Bajaj Platina is a clear winner here in terms of mileage, power, ground clearance, and price. Platina’s base model is 10k less than the base model of Hero Splendor Plus. Splendor Plus is durable and long-lasting.
