Hyundai Creta EV production to begin in December 2024
Hyundai’s next major venture in India is the introduction of an all-electric variant of the Creta SUV. This highly anticipated model is slated to debut with its new electric powertrain in the upcoming year. Production is scheduled to commence in December of this year.
The Hyundai Creta EV will be built upon the updated Creta facelift platform. Recent spy images reveal a design that incorporates several EV-specific features, including a closed-off grille, revamped bumper, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, and a charging port mounted on the front fender.
In terms of features, the Creta EV is expected to offer dual multimedia and instrument panel displays, dual-zone climate control, a redesigned steering wheel, a drive selector mounted on the steering column, updated center console and AC vents, panoramic sunroof, and new seat upholstery.
Moreover, the electric SUV will come equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree surround camera, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, six airbags, and front and rear parking sensors.
Regarding the battery pack size and driving range, the Creta EV is anticipated to feature a substantial 50kWh to 60kWh battery unit, providing an estimated range of over 500km on a single charge. Upon its release, the Creta EV will enter into competition with established players such as the MG ZS EV, Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400, Tata Curvv EV, and the Hyundai Kona Electric in the segment.
