Hyundai Grand i10 Nios scores 2 stars at Global NCAP crash test
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios managed to score two stars during the crash test conducted by Global NCAP. The car also secured a 2-star rating for child occupant safety. The test car was equipped with dual front airbags, pretensioners, and ABS.
The car offered good protection offered to the driver and passenger’s heads and neck while the car offered weak protection to the driver’s chest and adequate protection to the passenger’s chest. Marginal protection was offered to the thighs of both driver and passenger.
Adequate to marginal protection was offered to the driver’s and passenger’s knees, Thighs of both driver and co-driver received marginal protection.
The child seat prevented excessive forward movement during the impact but offered poor protection to the head and fair protection to the chest. The rearward-facing 18-month old infant was offered good protection to the head and fair protection to the chest.
The test results pointed out that the structure and footwell area of the Grand i10 NIOS was rated unstable during the crash.
