India’s First Electric Superbike – Ultraviolette F99

Ultraviolette Automotive has demonstrated to the Indian market that electric two-wheelers can deliver both exceptional quality and thrilling performance. Embracing the mantra of “Designed in India, Designed for the World,” Ultraviolette has unveiled its latest innovation—the F99 Factory Racing Platform—marking India’s first-ever superbike. Entirely conceived, designed, and engineered at its R&D headquarters in Bengaluru, the F99 represents a groundbreaking achievement for the Indian two-wheeler industry, boasting a confirmed power output that exceeds that of any production motorcycle from an Indian manufacturer by more than double.

The Ultraviolette F99 was first unveiled in its concept form at EICMA 2023, featuring a 120 hp motor that enables a claimed top speed of 265 km/h and a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 3 seconds.

While the brand remains tight-lipped about the specifications of the production version, it has announced ambitious goals for the F99 over the next 90 days, aiming to set records for:

– Highest top speed for an Indian motorcycle
– Fastest quarter mile for an Indian motorcycle

The F99 Factory Racing Platform embodies Ultraviolette’s commitment to leveraging racing to advance technology-enabled design. Innovations developed on this platform are expected to yield breakthroughs that will also benefit the F77 platform, which is currently available in five cities through Ultraviolette’s network of “Space Stations”: Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Bengaluru. Additional cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, and Mangalore, are set to join this network next month.

Speaking on the occasion, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO of Ultraviolette Automotive, stated, “We view innovation as both a duty and a responsibility toward the future of India. For too long, we have looked to the East and West, utilizing ‘Value Engineering’ to avoid the responsibility of creating world-class products in our own country. With the local talent available and the emphasis on design and technology fostered by start-ups through upskilling and job creation, there is no reason India cannot aspire to establish a world-class brand in performance motorcycling. To not pursue this vision would be a disservice to our generation.”

Niraj Rajmohan, CTO of Ultraviolette Automotive, added, “The F99 platform, featuring disruptive technology and ranking among the fastest and most advanced electric bikes globally, will help India strengthen its position as a leading player in the automotive sector. While we are recognized for contract manufacturing, we believe that with the right focus and application, now is the time for India to assert its rightful place among design-led and desirable automotive brands worldwide.”
