The Octa represents a new sub-brand for special edition Defenders. This model, alongside the Edition One, is slated to go on sale by the end of this year. Based on the five-door Defender 110, the Octa features numerous exterior cosmetic upgrades, including a new grille, revised front and rear bumpers, and carbon fiber trim. It also boasts quad exhausts at the rear.
Designed to conquer the toughest terrains, the Defender Octa rides 29.94mm higher than the standard Defender and comes equipped with 33-inch Goodyear Advance all-terrain tires, a 6D Dynamic chassis, active dampers, and 15.7-inch disc brakes at the front. Inside, the SUV offers performance seats with integrated headrests and Body & Soul Seat audio technology, maintaining its luxury appeal.
Powertrain Options for the Defender Octa
Under the hood, the Defender Octa houses a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid V8 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain delivers over 600bhp and up to 800Nm of torque. JLR claims that the SUV’s dynamic capabilities surpass those of any previous Defender. Despite its weight of over 2.5 tons, the Octa can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in under four seconds, making it the most capable Defender ever produced.
