Mahindra Thar Roxx ARAI-certified mileage revealed
The Mahindra Thar Roxx has recently made its debut in the market, starting at a price of Rs. 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With considerable buzz surrounding this new off-road vehicle, many enthusiasts are eager to learn more about its performance and efficiency. One of the most frequently asked questions is about the certified mileage of the five-door Thar Roxx. Fortunately, we now have the ARAI-certified mileage figures for this rugged SUV.
The Thar Roxx is available with two powertrain options: a 2.2-litre TGDi petrol engine and a 2.0-litre CRDi diesel engine. Both engine variants are paired with a six-speed manual transmission and an optional torque converter automatic.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the petrol engine is rated at 12.40 kmpl by ARAI. The diesel engine offers a higher efficiency, with a claimed mileage of 15.20 kmpl. These figures are based on ARAI testing standards. To provide a clearer picture of real-world performance, we conducted our own mileage test on the diesel automatic variant in its 4×2 configuration.
Our testing revealed that the Thar Roxx achieved a city mileage of 10.82 kmpl and a highway mileage of 15.44 kmpl. The combined average fuel efficiency for this model came out to be 11.97 kmpl. This result, while slightly lower than the ARAI-claimed figures, still reflects a respectable level of efficiency for an off-road vehicle of its caliber.
