Mahindra XUV, BE Electric SUVs
The upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs that will debut on February 10 include Born Electric models that will be sold under BE and XUV nameplates
Mahindra introduced the concept models of its future all-electric SUV range in the UK last year. It is now all set to reveal 5 new electric SUVs under the XUV.e and BE sub-brands for the first time on February 10. This means the new electric SUVs will be revealed a day before the first Formula E race weekend in Hyderabad. The upcoming EV is designed by the Mahindra MADE (Mahindra Advanced Design Europe) design studio in Oxfordshire, UK. You should also note that Mahindra is representing India on the Formula E grid with its Racing Factory team, which has been a part of Formula E since its inception.
Mahindra XUV.E8 and XUV.E9
Both Mahindra’s SUVs have been built on the INGLO platform. The INGLO platform is designed to be more secure, provide faster charging with more power, and fit a wide range of body designs. The basic layout, silhouette and seat configurations are similar to the XUV700. Probably, the Mahindra XUV.e8 will be the first of these electric SUVs to be launched in the Indian market under the new brand with the copper Twin Peaks logo. It will be launched in December 2024.
For those wondering, the Mahindra XUV.e9 will feature a coupe design which might remind you of the XUV700 from some angles. It will also be launched in the Indian market with the same copper Twin Peaks logo that we get with the recently launched XUV400. In terms of proportions, the SUV coupe measures 4,790 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width and 1,690 mm in height. It will be a 5-seater model that will ride on a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. The company has confirmed to launch it by April 2025.
Mahindra BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09
The Mahindra BE.05 will be a relatively small SUV based on the INGLO platform. It will be positioned above the XUV400. From what we know so far, this new electric SUV will measure 4,370 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height while the wheelbase is measured at 2,775 mm.
The Mahindra BE.07 will be a slightly bigger SUV than the BE.05 and will be underpinned by the same INGLO platform that we get with other SUVs. It will be equipped with modern amenities inside the cabin. The Mahindra BE.07 measures 4,565 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,660mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. It is to be launched in October 2026. Mahindra BE.09 is the third electric SUV announced by the automaker as part of its Born Electric range. It looks bigger than the earlier model and gets the same C-shaped headlamps and tail lights. More details however are yet to be known.
