The Maruti Suzuki Fronx was unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. It is scheduled to be launched in the Indian market pretty soon. The sub-compact SUV is based on the Baleno hatchback. Both cars share the same 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine for the base models. As the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is getting closer to launch, let’s see how it compares to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno in terms of mileage.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Vs Baleno Mileage Comparison
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is powered by a 1.2-liter K-series petrol engine that offers 90 PS of peak power and 113 Nm of maximum torque. It is paired with a 5-speed AMT and 5-speed manual transmission. With the manual transmission, the engine offers a fuel efficiency of 21.79 kmpl. The AMT gearbox provides mileage ratings of 22.89 kmpl. On the other hand, the same powertrain offers a mileage of 22.35 kmpl on the Baleno. With the AMT gearbox, it provides a fuel efficiency of 22.94 kmpl.
Additionally, the top-end variants of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx come with a 1.0-liter Boosterjet powertrain that offers 100 PS of peak power and 147.6 Nm of max torque. It is paired with a 5-speed AMT and 5-speed manual transmission. This powertrain offers 21.5 kmpl for the manual and 20.10 kmpl for the automatic transmission. The 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno offers better mileage.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Price and Launch Date
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is expected to be launched pretty soon. It has already arrived at dealerships. The company is still testing a CNG-powered mule. This variant is expected to arrive a few months later. While the company has not revealed teh oficial price, it is expected to come with a starting price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). The new sub-four meter SUV will compete with the likes of Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.
