Maruti Suzuki crosses 3 crore units production milestone

Maruti Suzuki, one of India’s leading automakers, has achieved a significant production milestone by surpassing the three crore units mark in the country. This remarkable feat comes after 40 years and four months since the brand commenced its operations in India back in 1983.

Of the total production, Maruti Suzuki’s plant in Haryana has manufactured over 2.68 crore vehicles, while more than 32 lakh vehicles were produced at Suzuki Motor Gujarat, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MSIL. Notably, the achievement of this milestone is attributed to the success of 10 models, including the Alto, Swift, Wagon R, M800, Dzire, Omni, Baleno, Eeco, Brezza, and Ertiga.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed gratitude to the loyal customers who have placed their trust in the brand’s products over the years. He acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the agile workforce and the company’s value chain partners in achieving this milestone. Takeuchi emphasized Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and highlighted efforts to strengthen operations to meet the needs of both domestic and global markets. He also noted that Maruti Suzuki contributes nearly 40% to the total vehicle exports from India.
