Mercedes-Benz EQS 680 Maybach to be launched in India tomorrow

The highly anticipated Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 is set to make its grand debut in India tomorrow. This launch marks a significant milestone, as it is the first-ever electric Maybach not only for the Indian market but also for the entire Mercedes-Maybach lineup globally. Staying true to the brand’s reputation, the EQS 680 will be introduced as a fully loaded model, complete with all the premium features and luxuries that define the Maybach family. Ahead of its official launch, we had the opportunity to take a closer look at this opulent electric SUV, and you can catch all the details in our video below.

Built on the EQS SUV platform, the India-spec Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 will be available in two seating configurations: a five-seater and a more exclusive four-seater option. During our preview, we explored the four-seat version, which showcases an unparalleled level of comfort and entertainment, particularly in the rear seat package. One of the standout features is the “boss mode” package, designed exclusively for the left-rear passenger, ensuring the utmost luxury and convenience.

The front cabin of the EQS 680 Maybach is equally remarkable, featuring a massive 56-inch MBUX hyperscreen that spans the entire dashboard. In addition to this cutting-edge display, the front seats are equipped with hot and cold massage functions, along with electrically adjustable controls for both the seats and the steering wheel, ensuring a first-class experience for the driver and front passenger.

Under the hood, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 is powered by a robust 122kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors. This setup delivers an impressive output of 649bhp and 950Nm of torque, with 4MATIC all-wheel drive included as standard. The vehicle boasts a claimed range of 611km on a single charge, and with a 200kW fast charger, it can regain 300km of range in just 20 minutes.

Currently, the EQS 680 Maybach stands in a league of its own, with no direct rivals in the market. However, future competition could come from luxury brands such as Range Rover, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and BMW. The EQS 680 Maybach is expected to be priced upwards of Rs. 3.5 crore (ex-showroom) in India, reflecting its status as a pinnacle of luxury in the electric vehicle segment.
