Mercedes Benz launches AMG GLC 43 Coupe at Rs. 76.70 lakh

Mercedes-Benz India today launched its first-ever ‘Made in India’ performance car the AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe in India. The car is priced at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 76.70 lakh.

This car was rolled out from Mercedes-Benz’s Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune. The rollout of the Mercedes-AMG product from India marks the brand’s first-ever locally produced, performance cars in India. Previously the AMG products such as 43, 53, 63, and GT series were sold in India after importing them via CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.

The localization of the car helps the brand to price the car competitively and will also help the brand to utilize the idle capacity of the Chakan facility to manufacture and export AMG products from India. Currently, the facility has the capacity to manufacture 20,000 units and produces 11 different models in India.

Powering the AMG GLC 43 Coupe is AMG tuned 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo engine which is capable of churning 395 PS of peak power and 520 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 9-speed TCT (torque-clutch transmission). The SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds and can attain a top speed of 250kmph.

Power is transferred to all the wheels via a 4MATIC four-wheel drive with a front/rear axle split of 31% to 69%. The engine is offered with 5 driving modes- Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual to suite the driving conditions.

The SUV is equipped with safety features such as ABS, 7-Airbags, EBD, Active Braking Assist, Automatic Airbag Deactivation, Mercedes Me connect and emergency services 24×7, pre-safe, and active bonnet, etc.
