Mercedes-Benz to increase prices of its cars in India
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed an increase in prices across its entire model lineup, effective from 1 January 2025. The price adjustment will see an increment of up to three percent, driven by rising operational costs.
The luxury carmaker attributes this upward revision to surging material costs, inflationary trends, and higher logistics expenses, all of which have escalated the overall cost of operations. To soften the impact for customers, Mercedes-Benz has announced price protection for all current and future bookings of vehicles that are not currently in stock. This protective measure will remain valid until 31 December 2024.
The price increase starts with the GLC, which will see a hike of ₹2 lakh, while the premium Mercedes-Maybach S680 limousine will witness a rise of up to ₹9 lakh. With this announcement, Mercedes-Benz becomes the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to reveal price changes for the upcoming calendar year. Other automotive brands are expected to follow with similar announcements, a customary trend as the year ends.
