Mifa 9 to be MG Select’s second model

MG Motor is set to launch its premium Select outlets in India with the unveiling of the Cyberster sports car. This two-door electric vehicle will be revealed at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo in January, with pricing and booking details to follow shortly after. The Mifa-9 MPV will follow as the second vehicle in MG’s premium offering.

First shown at the 2023 Auto Expo, the Mifa-9 is a large MPV measuring over 5 meters in length, featuring three rows of seating and an extensive list of high-tech features. Among the standout elements are electrically adjustable front and second-row seats, captain chairs for the second row, Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology with unique functions for the second row, a sunroof, and power-operated doors.

Under the hood, the Mifa-9 is powered by a 90 kWh battery paired with an electric motor generating 241bhp and 350Nm of torque, driving the front wheels. The vehicle offers multiple drive modes and features independent front and rear suspension for enhanced comfort. It is expected to be priced around Rs 70 lakh and is likely to be locally assembled to keep the cost competitive.

While the Cyberster will serve as MG’s flagship product, the Mifa-9 is poised to be a serious contender in the growing electric vehicle market. Positioned between models like the Kia Carnival and premium offerings like the Toyota Vellfire, Kia EV9, and Lexus LM, the Mifa-9 fills a gap in the electric people carrier segment, which is gaining popularity among multi-star hotels and high-profile clients. This niche market is expected to grow, making the Mifa-9 an exciting addition to MG’s lineup.
