New-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift to borrow features from Fronx

Maruti Suzuki is poised to make waves in the Indian automotive market with the imminent launch of the next-generation Swift. Anticipated to make its debut on May 9, 2024, we have obtained exclusive insights into the forthcoming features of this popular hatchback.

While the model has already been introduced in select international markets, we have learned that the India-specific variant will incorporate certain elements from its esteemed siblings, the Fronx and the Brezza. Noteworthy features expected to grace the vehicle include a nine-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, an Arkamys music system, a wireless charger, LED fog lamps, LED headlamps, and a comprehensive six-airbag setup, standard across all trims. Additionally, it is set to boast automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a Type C charging port, all four power windows, and a height-adjustable driver seat.

In terms of mechanics, the new-gen Swift is anticipated to retain its current configuration. Powering the vehicle will be a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with both a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT gearbox. This engine is capable of generating up to 88bhp of power and 113Nm of peak torque. Moreover, in line with the current generation, the upcoming Swift will also offer a factory-fitted CNG kit, albeit exclusively with a manual gearbox.
