New-gen Skoda Kodiaq begins testing in India; launch likely soon
Skoda India has started testing the fourth-generation Kodiaq in the country. Recently surfaced spy shots reveal the first look at the uncamouflaged test vehicle, painted in white. The new Kodiaq is anticipated to launch in India by the end of this year.
Revealed in October last year, the upcoming Kodiaq will feature a refreshed design while maintaining the SUV’s overall shape. The front will showcase updated split headlamps, L-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a reworked front bumper, black outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) positioned on the A-pillars, and a brushed aluminium finish for the grille and B and D-pillars.
The side view of the 2024 Skoda Kodiaq reveals new alloy wheels, while the rear will sport fresh C-shaped LED taillights, ‘Skoda’ lettering on the tailgate, and a redesigned rear bumper. Additional paint options are also expected.
Inside, the new Kodiaq draws inspiration from the latest Skoda Superb, featuring a dual-tone brown and black interior, a two-spoke steering wheel, and more. Key features include a 10-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror (IRVM), and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite.
Powering this competitor to the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Jeep Meridian is expected to be the familiar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, TSI petrol engine, delivering 187bhp and 320Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
