New Maruti Fronx Gets 6-Star Safety Rating, Safest Car Globally
Maruti Suzuki is the largest carmaker in India and has been on a launching spree having introduced new products this year, including the likes of Fronx and Grand Vitara.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx has received an unprecedented 6-star safety rating at the latest GNCAP. Fronx is a mid-size crossover SUV unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023. It caters to the audience looking for a unique product in the segment above the already popular Brezza compact SUV. Maruti has been at the butt of jokes due to some of its vehicles being unable to secure impressive safety ratings at the GNCAP. However, it has worked a lot on this aspect in the last couple of years, as has been seen in its recent products such as the new-gen Baleno and Brezza. This latest crash test result, however, takes things to a new height, with the Fronx receiving the best score ever!
An executive at the Global NCAP said, “We welcome and congratulate Maruti Suzuki’s initiative to meet Global NCAP’s new six-star requirements for the Fronx through voluntary testing. We urge all car makers to aspire to and achieve this level of crash test performance going forward, maintaining the momentum of safety improvements we have seen steadily develop through our program since we began our Indian testing in 2014”.
An industry expert added, “Following the introduction of Global NCAP’s more demanding protocol enhancements in July, it is extremely satisfying to see the first-ever 6-stars performance by Maruti Suzuki. Most domestic and international automakers understand that Indian consumers rightly expect high safety standards as a minimum requirement. We look forward to this trend continuing when Bharat NCAP begins next year.”
