New Maruti Suzuki Swift scores three-star rating in Euro NCAP crash test

Euro NCAP has released a new set of crash test results, featuring prominent models like the new Suzuki Swift, the 2024 Dacia Duster, and the new Skoda Kodiaq, among others. In this article, we delve into the performance of the fourth-generation Suzuki Swift in these tests.

According to Euro NCAP, the 2024 Suzuki Swift received a three-star rating in the crash test. The vehicle scored 67 percent for adult occupant protection, 65 percent for child occupant protection, 62 percent for safety assist, and 76 percent for vulnerable road users.

The tested Swift model was equipped with several safety features, including six airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters, and a seatbelt reminder system. Additionally, it featured Isofix child seat anchorage points in the second row and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite. Importantly, the passenger compartment of the Swift was deemed stable in the frontal offset test.

It’s worth noting that the Swift sold in Europe is manufactured in Japan, and has minimal connection to the Swift sold in India. However, the Indian version of the Swift is also equipped with various safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), hill start assist (HSA), rear parking sensors, a seatbelt reminder system, a speed alert system, Isofix child seat anchorage points, and additional features provided by the Suzuki Connect technology. It remains to be seen whether the new Swift will undergo testing by BNCAP in the coming months.
