Nissan Magnite facelift set for debut on 4 October
The highly anticipated facelift of the Nissan Magnite is set to debut in India on 4 October. This marks the most significant update for the Magnite since its original launch in 2020, bringing fresh design elements and notable upgrades to its cabin.
Spy images of the facelifted Magnite suggest that the car will sport a redesigned front and rear, along with new alloy wheels for the top-end variants. Inside the cabin, we can expect refreshed upholstery and the addition of ambient lighting—an enhancement already seen in its sibling, the Renault Kiger, but currently missing in the Magnite. The top-spec variants of the Magnite are already packed with features, including a digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, power-folding mirrors, and wireless phone mirroring.
Under the hood, the Magnite is likely to retain its existing 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which delivers 71bhp and 91Nm of torque, available with either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed AMT. Additionally, the more potent 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will continue, offering 99bhp and 152Nm of torque in the CVT variant, and 160Nm in the manual transmission version.
It’s expected that the upgrades seen in the new Magnite will eventually be incorporated into the Renault Kiger, likely in 2025. Nissan’s current refresh strategy for India is already in motion, starting with the launch of the X-Trail SUV, followed by this Magnite facelift. However, the brand’s flagship offerings will be two new C-SUVs with five- and seven-seat configurations. These SUVs will be based on the India-spec Renault Duster and the Dacia Bigster concept, which will make its global debut in Paris next month. These new models will allow Nissan and Renault to compete with popular rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the upcoming Tata Curvv.
