Sales: Q3 2021 sales numbers of Mercedes-Benz India
Some key highlights of this strong sales performance witnessed:
· MB India firmly consolidates its leadership position in the luxury car market with significant margin, despite prevalent pandemic related challenges
· Mercedes-Benz carved a strong rebound in its sales performance in Q3 2021 (July-Sep) buoyed by a strong product portfolio and resurgent customer sentiment
· MB India has the most diverse portfolio of 24 models of which 13 is locally made
· In 2021 MB India launched as many as 11 new products including: A-Class Limousine, New E-Class, New GLA, GLC FL, New S-Class, GLS Maybach and a host of AMGs
· AMG launches include AMG A35, AMG GLA 35, AMG E53, AMG E63, AMG GLE63 S
· The company delivered 4101 units making it one of its highest quarter ever in its history in India
· The growth achieved in Q3 2021 period is a solid 99% growth over same period in 2020
· The strong Q3 volumes resulted in MB India crossing the entire CY 2020 sales volume within Jan-Sep period
· Jan-Sep period sales stands at 8958 units which is 79% growth achieved over the Jan-Sep 2020 period
· MB India expected to sell 20% higher volumes had business been under normal conditions enabling to make and sell more cars
· Q1: 3193 units | Q2: 1664 units | Q3: 4101 units
· Equal demand for sedan and SUV: Sedan penetration 48% | SUV penetration 48% in Jan-Sep 21 volume
· LWB E-Class remained the highest sold model followed by GLC SUV
· Unprecedented demand for new models like A-Class Limousine, New GLA, New E-Class and the AMGs
· Very strong demand for existing best-sellers like the GLC, GLE and the GLS range of SUVs
· GLS Maybach, S-Class and the AMGs continue to have a strong customer preference at the top-end of the portfolio
· Wait list of various models ranges from 4 to 32 weeks depending on markets
· Good order bank created for the EQC with new batch coming in Oct-21
· More than 43,000 connected car customers of the brand: highest for any luxury carmaker in India
· Mercedes-Benz will roll-out the New S-Class on 7-Oct, the company already has rolled out 1,30,000 locally made cars in India
· The last 100,000 units were rolled-out in last 10 years – fastest for any luxury car maker in India
