Skoda compact SUV name to be revealed on 21 August

Earlier this year, Skoda announced the launch of its third model under the India 2.0 programme, slated for early 2025. This new vehicle will be a sub-four-meter compact SUV, with its official name set to be unveiled on August 21, 2024.

Continuing its tradition of naming SUVs with the letter ‘K’, like the Kushaq and Kodiaq, Skoda is expected to choose a similar moniker for this new model. The SUV will feature the automaker’s 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 114bhp and 175Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission.

Design-wise, the new SUV will resemble a scaled-down version of the Skoda Kushaq, sporting a similar front fascia, wheel design, and taillight configuration. The feature list is anticipated to be robust, including dual digital screens, climate control, connected car technology, and a 360-degree camera.

This upcoming model is set to be Skoda’s key player in terms of volume sales, competing directly with popular models like the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Fronx, and Toyota Taisor.
