Skoda Kylaq to arrive in showrooms by Feb 2025
Skoda has officially announced the name of its upcoming sub-four metre compact SUV: the Kylaq. Set to hit showrooms by February 2025, the Kylaq is expected to be revealed by the end of this year, with production beginning shortly thereafter. It’s likely that Skoda will unveil the pricing for the Kylaq at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, which is scheduled for the second week of January 2025.
The Kylaq is Skoda’s third vehicle under its India 2.0 program and will feature the automaker’s 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, delivering 113bhp and 175Nm of torque. Buyers will have the option of choosing between a six-speed manual transmission (MT) or a six-speed automatic transmission (AT).
Design-wise, the Kylaq shares much of its appearance with the Kushaq but has been shortened beyond the C-pillar to fit within the sub-four metre length category. The cabin and feature list are expected to be largely carried over from the Kushaq, positioning the Kylaq as a premium offering in its segment. This new model will compete with popular compact SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Fronx, Maruti Brezza, Toyota Taisor, and Mahindra XUV300.
