Tata Altroz Racer to be launched in India next month

Tata Motors is preparing to introduce a fresh contender in the performance hatchback arena, challenging the dominance of the Hyundai i20 N Line. The eagerly awaited Altroz Racer is set to hit the Indian market in the first half of June 2024.

Having made its debut at the Auto Expo 2023, the Tata Altroz Racer has since been spotted numerous times, with an official appearance at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. Boasting a sporty design, the Altroz Racer will showcase a range of dynamic elements, enhancing the allure of this high-performance hatchback. Expect to see sleek black accents adorning the hood, roof, ORVMs, and pillars, along with striking dual white stripes adorning the roof and bonnet.

In terms of features, the Altroz Racer promises a wealth of amenities, including a generous 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, six airbags, air purifier, voice-enabled sunroof, wireless charger, automatic climate control, aluminium pedals, red stitching and accents, and a 360-degree surround camera.

Under the hood, the Tata Altroz Racer will inherit the potent 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon lineup. Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, this powertrain delivers an impressive output of 120bhp and 170Nm of torque. Positioned as a direct competitor to the Hyundai i20 N Line, the Altroz Racer will also vie for attention against other premium hatchbacks such as the Maruti Baleno and the Toyota Glanza.
