Tata Curvv EV spied at charging station; launch soon

Tata Motors is currently in the development phase of a fresh coupe SUV model, set to hit the market in both traditional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) versions. Dubbed as the ‘Curvv’, this innovative SUV has made appearances at various events hosted by the automaker, such as the Auto Expo and the Bharat Mobility Show. Recent updates have shed light on the anticipated launch timeline for the Curvv. Following a brief testing period spanning a couple of months, sightings of the Curvv EV at charging stations have stirred excitement.

A notable feature captured in recent snapshots is the positioning of the charging port on the front fender, reminiscent of the setup seen in the Punch EV. However, it is speculated to incorporate a motorized flap, distinguishing it from the spring release mechanism of its counterpart. Enhancing the visual appeal of the Curvv is a striking full-length LED light bar adorning the front fascia, complemented by a broad hood, segmented LED headlights, and a distinct vertical slat-patterned lower grille.

Setting it apart from its competitors, the defining characteristic of this forthcoming Tata model is its coupe-like silhouette. Currently, alongside Tata, Mahindra and Citroen are also delving into similar body styles. In terms of features, the Curvv EV is poised to be equipped with cutting-edge technology, including Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a comprehensive 360-degree surround camera system, blind spot monitoring, and dual 12.5-inch screens serving as the infotainment and instrument panel displays. Additionally, it is set to boast amenities such as automatic climate control, a sleek twin-spoke steering wheel adorned with an illuminated logo, a wireless charging pad, front seats with power adjustment and ventilation, and a panoramic sunroof.

Turning attention towards its powertrain and specifications, drawing comparisons with existing models like the Nexon EV and the Punch EV, which feature battery capacities of up to 40.5kWh and 35kWh respectively. These models tout impressive driving ranges, with the Nexon EV LR variant claiming up to 465km on a single charge. Positioned above the Nexon EV, the forthcoming Curvv EV is anticipated to house a battery pack capable of delivering a driving range of approximately 500km, further solidifying its appeal in the electric vehicle segment.
