Tata Motors signs MoU with Government of Tamil Nadu to setup a new plant
Tata Motors Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu, signaling intentions to explore the establishment of a vehicle manufacturing facility in the region.
As per Tata Motors, the MoU outlines proposals for investing approximately Rs. 9,000 crore over a span of five years. Moreover, it holds the promise of generating up to 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. This development follows closely on the heels of the company’s milestone achievement of producing its one-millionth vehicle at the Sanand factory in Gujarat.
Looking ahead, Tata is gearing up to introduce the Curvv in both electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants in the forthcoming months. Following this, the Harrier EV and the Safari are slated for launch towards the conclusion of 2024 or the onset of 2025, while the Altroz Racer and the Nexon CNG models could potentially make their debut around the festive season.
