Tata Motors takes a dig at rivals for lower safety ratings
Tata Motors, one of India’s leading car maker has taken a dig at its rivals Hyundai, and Maruti Suzuki for achieving lower crash test ratings during GNCAP crash tests. The automaker first took a dig at Maruti S-Presso for zero-star safety rating.
Subsequently, Tata Motors mocked Hyundai Grand i10 Nios which achieved 2-star crash rating at Global NCAP safety test followed by another advertisement mocking WagonR which again has only 2-star crash rating as compared to Tata cars which boasts of much higher crash test ratings.
Tata Motors in the ad has displayed a broken coffee mug with coffee beans lying around. The advt reads “We don’t break that easy”. The ad also has a small portion that highlights Tiago’s 4-star Global NCAP Safety rating. Noteworthy, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso scored Zero stars at the recently concluded GNCAP crash test.
In the second instance, Tata Motors took on Hyundai Grand i10 Nios that scored just 2-stars at the recently concluded GNCAP crash test. In this ad, Tata Motors wrote ii (two) in the font used in Grand i10 Nios while iv (four) has been written in the font used for Tiago. The ad reads 2 is greater than 4. The ad reads ‘It’s not grand science, it’s simple maths’.
Now, Tata Motors has mocked Wagon R for scoring mere 2 stars at Global NCAP crash test. The ad reads ‘Safety is ‘two’ important to be ignored. Be smart before someone overturns your caRt.’ The ad also highlights that Tata Tiago is the safest car in the segment with 4 stars crash test rating.
