Tata Nexon CNG vs Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG – Specifications compared

Tata Motors took the spotlight at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024, unveiling the new Nexon i-CNG. With this introduction, the Indian automaker follows Maruti Suzuki in offering a compact SUV with a factory-fitted CNG kit. While the Brezza CNG led this segment previously, the Nexon i-CNG brings a unique set of technologies to the table. In this article, we’ll delve into the specifications of both the Tata Nexon CNG and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG Introduced in India in March 2023, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is offered in three variants: LXi, VXi, and ZXi, starting at Rs. 9.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Equipped with a 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine, it features a factory-fitted single-cylinder CNG kit. Paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, this engine delivers 87bhp and 121Nm of torque.

Tata Nexon CNG Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024, the Tata Nexon i-CNG stands out as the first turbo-petrol-powered CNG vehicle, boasting cutting-edge technology. Its standout feature is the twin-cylinder CNG technology capable of storing 60 litres of gas while maintaining a usable boot space of approximately 230 litres. While the power output of this powertrain remains undisclosed, the petrol engine variant produces 118bhp and 170Nm of torque.

Furthermore, the Nexon i-CNG is equipped with advanced safety features including a micro switch, leakage-proof materials, thermal incident protection, single advanced ECU, direct start in CNG mode, auto switch between fuels, modular fuel filter, and leak detection failure mechanisms.
