Features
The new Tata Safari has an edge over XUV 500 in terms of features. It boasts many features like the 8.8 inch infotainment system, Cruise control, different driving modes, Captain seats, Voice assistant, panoramic sunroof, rain sensing wipers, etc.
On the other hand, Mahindra XUV 300 has a 7 inch touchscreen, smartwatch connectivity, GPS support, electric Sunroof, automatic headlamps, start/stop button, automatic AC, etc.
Safety
These SUV’s are good in safety. Both the cars have the basic safety features like ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensors, Driver seat airbags, etc.
Mahindra XUV500 comes with six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse parking camera, hill hold and descent control.
Tata Safari also gets six airbags, reverse parking camera, hill hold and descent control, electronic traction control and corner stability control.
Dimensions
Both the vehicles are spacious. XUV 500 is a seven seater. On the other hand Safari is offered in 6 and 7 seater variants.

XUV 500 has a 2.2 litre engine while Safari comes with a 2 litre engine. The Safari has a powerful engine with a power of 170 PS compared to 153 PS of XUV 500.
Safari is available in Manual and Automatic variants. XUV 500 has a manual transmission.
Colours
The new Tata Safari is available in Royale Blue, Orcus White and Daytona Grey.
Mahindra XUV500 is available in Crimson Red, Opulent Purple, Moondust Silver, Lake Side Brown, Mystic Copper, Volcano Black and Pearl White.
Final Verdict
The new Tata Safari is a clear winner in terms of Engine, Size and Features but the new Safari is expected to be expensive than XUV 500. Price of XUV 500 starts from Rs 13.56 lakh and top-end model costs Rs 19.5 lakh (Ex- Showroom).
