This is what the India-spec Renault Duster RXZ variant could get

We first encountered it as the new-gen Dacia Duster, and a few months later, it made its debut in the Turkish market under the Renault badge. Now, the next-gen Renault Duster has been confirmed for India. Based on the Turkish model, here’s our estimate of what the top-spec RXZ variant might offer in the Indian market.

  • Front and Rear Armrests with Cup Holders: Adds to the convenience and comfort for passengers.

  • Dual Digital Screens with Wireless Phone Mirroring: Offers modern connectivity and entertainment options.
  • Steering-Mounted Audio Controls: Facilitates easy and safe audio adjustments while driving.
  • Ambient Lighting: Adds a touch of sophistication to the cabin.
  • Wireless Charger and USB Charging Ports: Ensures devices stay powered on the go.

Observations

Noticeably absent from this list are features such as a sunroof, connected car technology, and a leatherette upholstery package. The car was patented without a sunroof, but given its popularity in the target market, Renault might make some adjustments for the Indian version.

Engine and Performance

The new Duster is expected to come with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 130bhp and 230Nm of torque. It will likely be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission (MT) or a six-speed automatic transmission (AT). Additionally, we anticipate that the top-spec version will feature 4X4 technology, enhancing its off-road capabilities.

Market Relevance

The Duster is a crucial model for Renault as it marks its re-entry into a competitive segment, facing off against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

This comprehensive set of features and expected performance highlights Renault’s commitment to making a significant impact with the next-gen Duster in the Indian market.
