TVS to launch new electric two-wheeler in next six months

TVS Motor Company is gearing up to expand its electric two-wheeler lineup in India, with plans to introduce a new electric model by March 2025.

The company confirmed this during an investor call, where executives outlined their upcoming EV plans. Currently, TVS offers the iQube in various versions, which has seen considerable success across India. Earlier, TVS also introduced the X sports electric scooter; however, its delivery was delayed due to technical issues. With its striking design, the TVS X had strong potential to draw more customers to TVS showrooms.

According to insiders, TVS, headquartered in Hosur, is working on several new electric scooter models and has also initiated development on an electric motorcycle. The upcoming two-wheeler is expected to target the affordable segment, likely positioning it as an accessible EV option. There’s speculation that TVS may either release an electric version of the popular Jupiter or the XL EV, a model anticipated to appeal to the B2B segment. The company has already trademarked names for these potential models, including the “XL EV” and “E-XL.”

TVS is expected to reveal this new electric vehicle at the 2025 Bharat Expo, with an official launch anticipated by March 2025.
