Volkswagen has its sights set on introducing a new seven-seater SUV, closely linked to the Tiguan, to the market. Leaked images reveal the interior of the Tayron, slated for sale in China under the name Tiguan L Pro. This unveiling is part of VW’s extensive strategy to expand its SUV lineup in China, aiming to double its offerings in this segment. While initially targeting the Chinese market, the Tayron is expected to make its way to India in due course.

Revamped Interior Design The Tayron boasts a modern interior design, reflecting Volkswagen’s latest generation aesthetic with a strong focus on technological integration and tactile interfaces. It features a prominent floating infotainment system complemented by a sizable digital driver’s display. Unlike its European counterparts, the China-spec model includes a dedicated screen for the front passenger. Notably, the traditional gear lever has been replaced by a steering-mounted stalk, optimizing central console space.

Dimensional Attributes and Powertrain Options Measuring 4,735mm in length, 1,859mm in width, and 1,682mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,791mm, the Tayron offers substantial proportions suitable for its seven-seater configuration. Additionally, European variants are likely to feature a 1.5-liter turbo model equipped with a 48V plug-in hybrid system for enhanced efficiency.
